Here you will find the photographs I was commissioned to take on behalf of Atmosphere Inc and JP Morgan Chase for their Advancing Black Pathways event at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Noteworthy speakers of the night include Thasunda Brown Duckett, the Howard University Speech and Debate Team, Jamie Dimon, Vanita Gupta, Faith Leach, Racquel Oden, Omari Hardwick, Sekou Kaalund, Emmitt Smith, Ray Bell, Jen Roberts, Michael Sorrell, Forest T. Harper Jr., Lielani Moten, Soledad O’Brien, Brandon Fleming, and Chloe Woods.

The IOTA Club & Cafe held its final jam session on the 18th of July. The jam sessions were a staple of Arlington nightlife where musicians from all over the metropolitan area would come and play together. Its one year anniversary also marked the end of the jam taking place at the IOTA, though plans are underway to find a new location. Anyone could throw their name into a cup (each of which would be drawn from at random) to take part, and form a makeshift band for 10-15 minutes! An entire community sprung up around these events. We can only hope that they continue at a new location!
